<p>A working chair comprising a seat carrier (1) and a back carrier (2) of which each is resiliently rotatable about a horizontal shaft (3) mounted in an underframe (4), and a releasable coupling means (11, 12) for mutual fixing of the seat carrier (1) and the back carrier (2) in a chosen fixed seating position, the coupling means comprising first and second cooperating coupling members (11, 12) connected to the underframe (4) and the back carrier (2), respectively, and a clamp unit (19) fitted to the underside of the seat carrier (1) and arranged for mutual clamping and release, respectively, of the coupling members (11, 12) under the influence of a handle (26) movable between a first operational position in which the coupling members (11, 12) are locked to each other, and a second operational position in which the coupling members are released from each other. The handle (26) is arranged in such a manner that it assumes a stable position in both of said operational positions, and in the second operational position thereby causes the coupling members (11, 12) to be permanently released from each other, and the seat carrier (1) and the back carrier (2) are then limitedly rotatable and are resiliently tiltable back and forth in a rocking motion by the person sitting on the chair.</p> |
