Hydrophilic urinary catheter as used for self-catheterisation by patients is wetted by an arrangement of a wetting receptacle (110) defining a wetting fluid receiving area (102) receiving the catheter and a hydrophilic wetting fluid container (106) with discharge outlet which can be moved from closed to open position. The wetting fluid container can be positioned in the wetting receptacle in a position in an operational position in which at least the discharge outlet is within the bounds of the receptacle.
