PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the structure of a holding frame by providing a connecting member consisting of a blanking metal member, mutually connecting two halved parts thereof by a first web, and forming each halved part out of a frame and an elastic intermediate member situated inside the frame. SOLUTION: A connecting member 27 is formed by blanking a special steel covered with nickel, and basically formed of two holding frame halved parts 14a, 14b. The halved parts 14a, 14b are formed so as to be mirror-symmetric in with respect to a longitudinal axis B. Each halved part 14a, 14b is formed of an external frame member 17 for stabilization and an intermediate member 22 arranged therein, and these members are mutually connected through a web 28. According to this structure, a discharge vessel is expanded precisely in parallel to the lamp axis, and the intermediate member 22 follows this expansion, so that a wanted vibration can be suppressed. |
