INK DETECTOR

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the ink detector of an ink jet recording apparatus for continuously detecting the vol. of the ink in an ink container while fixing a light source or a light detecting element for detecting ink without moving the same. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording apparatus for scanning a recording head including an ink container 1 along the direction right-angled to the feed direction of recording paper, an inclined surface 2 composed of a light permeable member and inclined in a scanning direction with respect to the horizontal direction is formed to a part of the bottom surface of the ink container 1 and a light source 4 and a light detecting element 5 are arranged above and below the inclined surface and the vol. of the ink in the ink container 1 is detected from the change of the detection output of the light detecting element 5 changed accompanied by the scanning of the recording head.
