In a process for producing a fiber-reinforced composite material by wet or dry blending a thermoplastic resin and reinforcing fibers, forming the resulting blend into a web, drying the web, if necessary, and heating, pressing and cooling the web, the improvement comprising using as the thermoplastic resin porous resin particles having open pores.
