The system has a pump to which the consumer unit (2) is connected and controlled by a valve (5) regulating the flow rate at its inlet (6) side. To avoid insufficient pressure at the unit inlet, a logic unit (14) generates a control pressure for the valve, causing the valve to increase the flow rate. The logic unit can be connected to a pressure source at the inlet side and a control surface in the valve at the outlet.
