In the production of vinyl chloride homo- and copolymers by batch polymerization in aqueous emulsion in the presence of a combination of at least two anionic and/or nonionic emulsifiers, added during polymerization, at least one emulsifier is added in the first phase of polymerization and addition of the rest is started at the earliest when the conversion reaches 10%.
