PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-impact styrene type flame-retardant resin composition excellent in heat stability. SOLUTION: There is provided a resin composition comprising 100 pts.wt. rubber-modified styrene resin (A) containing 2-25 wt.% conjugated diene rubber in which the rate of 1,4-bonds in the butadiene unit chains of a conjugated diene rubber is at least 70 wt.%, and the reduced viscosityηsp /C of the resin portion is 0.4-0.6 and 1-100 pts.wt. halogen-containing flame retardant (B), wherein the total content of the remaining aromatic vinyl monomer, dimer and trimer is at most 1 wt.%. In a more particular example, the temperature at which a 5 wt.% weight loss is reached when component B is subjected to a heating test (a rate of temperature rise is 10 deg.C/min) is 300 deg.C or lower.
