摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform continuously at a high speed the charges and discharges of NaS batteries without changing over through a controller a charging mode into a discharging mode, and vice versa, by dividing the NaS batteries capable of their charges and discharges into two blocks, and by connecting the two blocks of the batteries in parallel with each other via diode means. SOLUTION: In a power supply unit, there are provided first and second NaS batteries 12, 13 capable of their charges and discharges, a first converter 4 for converting an AC power into a DC power, and a second converter 5 for converting a DC power into an AC power. Then, the first and second converters 4, 5 are connected respectively with the first and the second NaS batteries 12, 13. Further, the first NaS battery 12 is connected with the second NaS battery 13 via a diode 10. As a result, without changing over through a controller a charging mode into a discharging mode, and vice versa, the charges and discharges of the batteries 12, 13 can be performed continuously at a high speed. Also, even in the course of one converter performing a battery- charging, controlling the output voltage of the other converter, the feeding and receiving controls of reactive powers are made possible from the converter to a power system or from the power system to the converter.
