PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for voice service with which a first voice message to the incoming side of a party in a telephone service due to the voice service device can be surely reproduced. SOLUTION: A line control part 1 is connected with a telephone network 6 by plural lines. A voice processing part 2 has buffer memories corresponding to the lines, locates between the line control part 1 and a voice storage part 4 and has means for transmitting the data of the first party's voice transmitted from the line control part 1 to a voice recognizing part 3, temporarily storing voice data from the voice storage part 4 and transmitting them to the line control part. The voice recognizing part 3 recognizes whether the party's voice data transmitted from the voice processing part 2 are matched with the voice pattern of 'hello' or 'yes' registered as a dictionary or not and transmits the recognized result to a main control part 5. The main control part 5 controls the entire device while being connected with the line control part 1, voice processing part 2, voice recognizing part 3 and voice storage part 4.
