PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the thickness of a film layer provided over an entire area of the diaphragm suitable by providing a synthetic resin film layer with a specific thickness for an entire area of at least one face of the diaphragm for an electroacoustic transducer. SOLUTION: A free edge diaphragm 13 consists of a diaphragm main body 11 and an edge 12, adhered to an outer edge of the diaphragm main body 11. A synthetic resin film layer 15 of 25-45μm thickness is formed on an entire rear surface of the free edge diaphragm 13. In this case, the synthetic resin film layer 15 is formed over the entire rear surface of the free edge diaphragm 13, after the diaphragm main body 11 and the edge 12 have adhered so as to improve the retention of shape of the edge 12 and to suppress deformation. Moreover, since the end face of the edge 12 and the end face of the diaphragm main body 11 are covered by the synthetic resin film layer 15, penetration of water from the end faces is eliminated. Furthermore, deformation is reduced and the water-resistance is enhanced, by specifying the thickness of the synthetic resin film layer 15.
