FIELD: pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a pharmaceutical composition for rectal administration as suppository. The composition has 1,2,3,9-tetrahydro-9-methyl- -3-[(2-methyl-1H-imidazole-1-yl)-methyl] -4H-carbazole-4-one as an active component in the form of free base or a pharmaceutically acceptable solvate. A pharmaceutically acceptable carrier is a solid-fat base exhibiting a hydroxyl number at the range 60-70. The amount of the indicated active component is from 0.05 to 20% by mass. For preparing the composition as suppository the indicated active component is mixed thoroughly with the indicated carrier. The composition is used for treatment of patients with states caused by effect of 5-hydroxytryptamine on 5-âÆ3-receptors. The indicated states are nausea and vomiting.
