PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a deviation of an amount of toner adhesion due to an influence of an image-area-ratio right before image formation.SOLUTION: An image density control method is the method to be used in causing a photoreceptor and development roller carrying two-component developer composed of toner and a magnetic carrier holding the toner to be rotated with the photoreceptor and development roller opposedly arranged, and developing an electrostatic latent image in a development area between the photoreceptor and the development roller. The method is configured to: prepare a toner pattern in a non-image area of a surface of the photoreceptor upon printing; detect the toner pattern by a plurality of optical sensors arranged in a main scan direction; convert an output of the sensor into an amount of toner adhesion to the non-image area; and thereby, change an image creation condition in order to obtain an appropriate amount of toner adhesion to the electrostatic latent image. In this adjustment mode, a position where the toner pattern is prepared is changed in the main scan direction in accordance with an image-area-ratio of an area in front of one circumference of rotation of the development roller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
