The procedure, in which a label is placed round an article of tubular or similar shape and has its projecting ends stuck together face-to-face, uses a machine with a head (10) equipped with a pair of arms (11). Each arm has a gripping sole (12), an applicator shoe (13) and a control mechanism (15, 16) that moves the arms and shoes between positions in which they pick up a label (E), place it round the article (S), press the free ends (E1, E2) of the label together, apply the label to the outer surface of the article and complete the joining of its projecting ends. |
