The space (9) between the two shells (3,4) of a yo-yo is adjustable by turning their hubs (5,6) in relation to each other by a friction element pressed between the axle and a hub.The axle comprises an axle pin (10) and two end pieces (13,14) at the two ends of the pin, each with a friction element. The ends of the axle pin or the axle end-pieces have an external thread (17) for screwing into the hub of one shell.
