PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain with high productivity a decorated molded article on which a continuous pattern is decorated by a method wherein a thermosetting resin compsn. for decoration is charged in the cavity of a mold and a shape is formed by increasing viscosity and the shaped one face is used as a decorative surface layer and a molding material consisting of a thermosetting resin compsn. is filled on the back surface and heating and pressing are performed. SOLUTION: A decorative surface layer provided with a dish-like shape forming is prepd. by a method wherein a patterning agent-contg. thermosetting resin compsn. is charged in a press molding mold (a bottom mold) 2 in such a way that five layered patterning agent-contg. thermosetting resin compsn. are spread into sheets up and down through a polyethylene terephthalate film for mold releasing and a top mold 1 is pressed by using a press molding machine and a mold cavity for applying the dish-like shape forming in which a continuous decoration is connected from the back surface for a kitchen counter to the outer peripheral side edge is formed and in addition, aging is performed at 40 deg.C for 40 hr to increase viscosity. The bottom mold and the top mold of a mold for press molding are heated respectively at 145 deg.C and 125 deg.C and a shape-molded decorative surface layer is charged in the bottom mold and then, SMC is filled in the mold cavity of the top face of the decorative surface layer and the mold is closed.
