PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ethylene copolymer composed of an ethylene unit and at least one kind of a 3-12Cα-olefin unit, having >3 molecular weight distribution Mw /Mn and narrow comonomer distribution. SOLUTION: This ethylene copolymer is composed of an ethylene unit and at least one kind of a 3-12Cα-olefin unit, has >3 molecular weight distribution Mw /Mn , and a comonomer distribution having a standard deviationσof an averaged weighted elution temperature Ta determined by a TREF(Temperature Rising Elution Fraction) method and regulated so as to satisfy the formulaσ>k4 -k1 (Ta -k0 )-k2 k3 (Ta -k0 )/(1+k3 (Ta -k0 )) [ deg.C] [k0 is 338.5 deg.C; k1 is 0.0053; k2 is 1.1318 deg.C; k3 is 0.00483 deg.C<-1> ; k4 is 0.55 deg.C; Ta is <98 deg.C].
