PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bad influence of nonlinear distortion of an amplifier at the time of amplifying a signal by monitoring the signal and generating a waveform for correction to delay the signal at the time of excess of the amplitude of this signal over a threshold and adding the waveform for correction and the delayed signal. SOLUTION: The amplitude of an RF signal being processed by a distortion giving device 510 is monitored at the entrance of the distortion giving device 510 by a clip detector 514. If it is judged that the monitored amplitude of the RF signal exceeds a clip threshold, the clip detector 514 sends a numerical value and a generation timing, which correspond to the monitored peak amplitude of the RF signal, to a pulse generator 516. The pulse generator 516 receives the output from the clip detector 514, and it generates a pulse output if it exceeds the clip threshold. Though the RF signal for correction is distorted, the distortion is adjusted before or after amplification in an RF power amplifier 540.
