PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing a proper evaluated value, even when aborting is generated in evaluated value calculation using matching templates. SOLUTION: For a search image obtained by detecting an inputted image from a sensor, pixel values are cumulatively evaluated successively by one pixel by a previously fixed template image (109) to determine whether the value of the cumulative pixels exceeds a previously fixed threshold F (110). When it exceeds this, the cumulative evaluation processing is aborted in order to calculate and determine (115) an evaluated value F×N/n by the use of the threshold F, the number of pixels N of a template and the number of evaluated pixels (n) at the time of aborting.
