PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject system designed to surely sterilize a necessary quantity of rice seed at farm levels to be sterilized. SOLUTION: This tank for soaking rice seed in hot water has a box-shaped hot water tank 1 with the upper face open for soaking rice seed in hot water at a specified temperature, a water heater 2 for feeding the hot water tank 1 with hot water regulated to the specified temperature, and a rice seed housing vessel 9 made up of a frame 7 and a plurality of housing cages 8 supported on the frame 7 and free to put into and withdraw from the hot water tank 1. Furthermore, this system is designed to equip the hot water tank 1 with a feed pipe 4 having a plurality of delivery ports 5 for simultaneously delivering hot water from the vicinity of one sidewall toward the other and a drain pipe 6 having a drain port 6a for discharging hot water via a site close to the bottom at the approximately central spot of the hot water tank 1 so as to allow hot water to flow from the vicinity of one sidewall toward the other. |
