PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a multicomponent mixture containing three or more components into product streams rich in any one of the components. SOLUTION: In this method, a feed stream containing three or more components A, B, C is separated into product streams 70, 80, 90 rich in any one of the components by distillation in a distillation system containing at least two distillation columns 100, 200. In this case, a) a feed stream 10 is fed to a first distillation column 100, b) connections of 2-way streams are established between the first end part of the first distillation column 100 and the first place of the second distillation column 200, and c) one-way connection between the second end part of the first distillation column 100 and the second place of the second distillation column 200 is established.
