PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a trypsin inhibitor in urine (UTI), capable of raising clinical utility as an index for showing an organism state and accurately measuring the amount of UTI. SOLUTION:α1-Antitrypsin (α1-AT) in a sample is inactivated. The sample is mixed with a trypsin solution, an enzyme reaction is started by the addition of a substrate and UTI is measured by measuring an absorbance. A method for adding a protease except trypsin to the sample and reacting the protease with theα1-AT to form a complex or a method for adding an oxidizing agent to the sample may be cited as the method for inactivating theα1-AT. Elastase and subtilisin can be used as the protease and sodium iodate, iodine, copper sulfate and iron trichloride can be used as the oxidizing agent, respectively. When subtilisin is added to the sample, theα1-AT is inactivated to measure the accurate UTI amount.
