PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oxide glass capable of recording or reproducing images ofγ-rays, X-rays and ultraviolet rays and utilizable even as a writable optical recording material and exhibiting a long afterglow and stimulated light emission. SOLUTION: This oxide glass comprises 21-80% of GeO2 , 0-50% of ZnO, 0-55% of Ga2 O3 (the total amount of ZnO and Ga2 O3 is 3-55%), 0-10% of Tb2 O3 , 0-2% of MnO (the total amount of Tb2 O3 and MnO is 0.01-10%), 0-45% of R2 O (R is one or more kinds of atoms selected from among Li, Na, K and Cs), 0-40% of R'O (R' is one or more atoms selected from among Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba), 1-45% of the total amount of R2 O and R'O, 0-50% of SiO2 , 0-20% of B2 O3 , 0-20% of Al2 O3 , 0-7% of Yb2 O3 and 0-5% of Ln2 O3 (Ln is one or more atoms selected from among Sm, Dy, Tm, Pr, Y, La, Gd, Lu and Nd) respectively expressed in terms of mol.%.
