The device comprises a stop for an intermediate needle (21), coupled to the main injector spring (22), limiting the opening of the injector (2). A detection accumulator (25) is supplied by the high pressure duct (13), through a valve (27). A control valve (26), biased into its rest position by a spring (28) is operated by the pressure in the accumulator and controls the injector. A control piston (29) carries the injector needle (6) and opens the connection to the discharge orifice (30).
