The connecting system connects a control transmitter to several control receivers driving lighting devices depending on the control signals. At least one control receiver (6) contains a signal amplifier (10) and retransmits the received control signal after amplification to supply subsequent control receivers. A switching device (20,21,27,29) and associated control element (33) are provided for each control receiver containing a signal amplifier. The control element is connected to a current supply for the associated amplifier and actuates the switch so that the input line (9) is connected to at least one amplifier input if the current supply produces an adequate supply voltage and directly to the output line (11) if the supply does not produce an adequate voltage.
