The holder comprises a rotational axis(3), a first spur(1) and at least a second spur(2). The first spur and the rotational axis form a first angle( alpha ), the second spur and rotational axis form a second angle( beta ), and the first spur and second spur form a third angle( psi ). All three angles are more or less right angles. The rotational axis has at least one mounting and preferably two end-standing mountings(4.1,4.2). The first and second spurs may have the same or different lengths. An Independent claim is included for a bicycle stand consisting of two holders arranged in mirror-image fashion and with the section accommodated in the mounting extending co-axially with the rotational axis.
