PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separating device for die backers with which a die and backers are more surely automatically separated and residue which remains in the die after the die is separated from the backers is safely cut without the aid of hands. SOLUTION: This die backer separating device is provided with a die clamping mechanism 3 for clamping die backers B, D from the upper part of the die which are placed on a die table 2 making the center axis of the die backers B, D level, sensor 17 for detecting the joined surface 16 between the die backers B, D, a die positioning/pulling-out mechanism 6 for positioning and pulling out the joined surface 16 between the die backers by being connected to the die clamping mechanism 3 and moving the die clamping mechanism 3 back and forth in the direction of the center axis of the die, and a pair of separating edges (15a), 15b which are moved back and forth against the center of the joined surface 16 between the positioned die backers.
