PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the clad height in calculation by using an actual sectional area of a deposited metal obtained from the radius of a consumative electrode and the relationship between the supply velocity or welding current and the welding velocity, and the deposition part sectional area obtained on a plot against the clad height of the n-th layer. SOLUTION: An actual sectional area Sn is obtained from a formula. In the formula, m means a supply velocity, and the function of a welding current (a). r is a radius of the consumative electrode, a is the welding current, v is the welding velocity, d is the deposition coefficient against thickness of the consumative electrode, and L is the deposition coefficient against the protruded length of the consumative electrode. Also, a deposition part sectional area So of the n-th layer is obtained on the plot against the clad height h of the n-th layer from the groove shape data and the groove bottom width Wn of the n-th layer. That is, the formula is So=f(h,θ), whereθis a groove angle. Therefore, the clad height h of the n-th layer can be also calculated via the formula.
