PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select heat recovery heating running for recovering heat held by air discharged out of a compartment while miniaturizing a front unit and a rear unit. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with a front unit 20 and a rear unit 30 having a ventilation mechanism 38. In this case, each of the internal heat exchangers of front and rear sides disposed in the units 20 and 30 is composed of one heat exchanger. Then, by switching the opening or throttling states of first, second and third flow rate adjusting valves 13, 15 and 37 provided in the outlet/inlet sides of internal heat exchangers 14 and 34, the three running modes of cooling running, heating running and heat recovery heating running by recovering heat held by air discharged out of the compartment are selectable.
