PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silent chain transmission device of a structure that an engaging impact of a silent chain is shared by an inner crotch and an outer flank so as to cause the inner crotch to engage smoothly for prevention of its wear and for maintaining the durable strength of the whole chain for a long period of time, capable of reducing noise emission by shifting the transition timing of engagement of the projection on each inner crotch with a sprocket on each outer flank. SOLUTION: Each plate 10 has a pair of link teeth 13 consisting of an inner crotch 11 and an outer flank 12, and a number of such plates 10 are coupled together by pins so that a silent chain is formed, and a transmission device with this silent chain includes a sprocket having sprocket teeth to engage with link teeth 13 of the silent chain, wherein a projection 11a having a straight contour part is formed in a position nearer the tooth tip than the engaging pitch line L of the inner crotch 11.
