The invention calls for the vehicle safety belt locking device to be triggered when a sufficiently violent rear impact is detected. To this end, a sensor (1) delivers a signal (a(t)) determined by the acceleration of the vehicle along its longitudinal axis. If a positive acceleration is detected, the acceleration signal (a(t)) is analysed in an analysis circuit (2). If the magnitude of the analysed signal (y(t)) exceeds a threshold value (G1), a triggering signal (z(t)) is generated which actuates the device (31) which triggers the belt locking device. |
