<p>PURPOSE: A melting gasifier is provided to generate a reduction gas by gasification of melt metal such as melt iron or carbon as a metal medium being partially reduced and partially containing fine powder. CONSTITUTION: A melting gasifier (10) for producing molten metal and reduction gas has feed ducts (17, 17, 9) for oxygen-containing gas, carbon-containing materials and the metal-containing material. At least one discharge duct (12) for the reduction gas generated in the melting gasifier (10) starts from the melting gasifier (10). A tap hole (18) for the molten metal and slag is also provided. In order to allow finely divided metal-containing materials to be processed without briquetting and without the finely divided metal-containing material being entrained out of the melting gasifier (10) by the reduction gas generated therein, at least one feed duct (9) for the metal-containing material is arranged in the area of a dome (30) that encloses the top of the melting gasifier (10). A refractory wall (33) inclined relative to the vertical is arranged inside the melting gasifier (10) below the opening of the feed duct (9) for the metal-containing material. The metal-containing material falling inside the melting gasifier (10) under the effect of gravity hits the inclined wall (33). A heating device (38) is further provided above the inclined wall (33) for heating the area between the opening of the feed duct (9) for the metal-containing material and the inclined wall (33).</p> |
