PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzyme antibody complex useful as an enzyme-labeled antibody, in particular in immune histochemistry and enzyme immunoassay, and to allow immunoassay of high sensivity. SOLUTION: One molecule or more of enzyme with maleimide groups or thiol groups introduced, and a carrier (polylysine, amino dextran, or the like) with thiol groups introduced when the maleimide groups are introduced in the enzyme, or with maleimide groups introduced when the thiol groups are introdued in the enzyme forms covalent bonds via the groups thereof, a maleimide group is introduced to at least one amino group remaining in a complex prepared hereinbefore, and a reduced antibody or an antibody fragment forms a covalent bond to the maleimide group of the complex via the thiol group.
