摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of reading work and to read a document at a high speed when both surfaces of the document are read by reading the first surface of the document after the inside and the outside surfaces of the document are inverted in an inversion path and reading the other surface of the document whose first surface is already read after the inside and the outside surfaces of the document are inverted again. SOLUTION: When a guide path 112 is opened by a switching guide member 28, the document sheet P whose second page P2 is already read is carried to an inversion part 18 through the first inversion guide path 111 from the path 112 by inversion rollers 15 and 16. Then, the second page P2 of the sheet P is turned backside and the first page P1 is arranged frontside. The sheet P passed through an image read and exposure part R is guided by the guide member 28, passed through a guide path 27 and carried to a guide path for paper ejection 30 by a pair of carrying rollers 14 and 29. The sheet P is placed on a paper ejection part 32 on a condition that the first page P1 is set as the lower surface and the second page P2 is set as the upper surface. Thus both surfaces of many documents can be read at a high speed.
