PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated tumbler type locking device which is free from any malfunction even when a play to allow a smooth operation of a key is present. SOLUTION: A laminated tumbler type locking device comprises a lock tumbler 3 which is engaged with a locking plate part 13 of a dead plate 2 to prevent a dead plate 2 from being projected and sliding by a stopper projection 12, and a memory tumbler 4 to generate a dead space to allow the locking plate part 13 to pass when a key 7 is turned, and side parts 3a, 4a of the lock tumbler 3 and the memory tumbler 4 opposite to a key ridge part 8 of the key 7 are tapered.
