PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector requiring no force to insert and draw off with its lever free of risk of easy releasing even if an external force is applied to a flexible board (FPC) or flexible flat cable (FFC) and capable of keeping the contacted condition certainly. SOLUTION: A contact 3 to be connected electrically with an FPC/FFC 6 is composed of an upper arm 3A to be fixed to an insulator 20, a contacting part 3B, a coupling part 3Bb to make elastic deformation, and a turning guide part 3Aa, while a lever to press the FPC/FFC and fix is composed of a turning guided part 4C to make engagement with the turning guide part, a connection holding projection 4Dd and an operation part 4B, and the connection holding projection moves in the opposite direction to the FPC/FFC inserting direction as the operation part of the lever is moved in the direction of the FPC/FFC being fixed. In this connector with no force required to make insertion and drawout, the connection holding projection is located nearer the opening of the connector than the normal drawn to the FPC/FFC 6 from the rotational center of the lever in the condition that the FPC/FFC 6 is fixed on the section shape approximately perpendicularly intersecting the rotation axis of the lever.
