PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamper circuit for limiting an output voltage manufacturable at a low cost, regarding a gas discharge lamp ballast of such type as regenerating and controlling a pair of serially connected switches for a DC-AC converter using a gate drive circuit. SOLUTION: A gate drive circuit 28 is provided for regenerating and controlling a first and a second serially connected switch 20 and 22. The gate drive circuit 28 has a feedback circuit 33 for feeding a feedback signal showing current flowing in a resonance load circuit 26, an inductor 40 for connecting the feedback signal to a control connection point 32 and a first bilateral voltage clamp 42 connected between a common connection point 24 and the control connection point 32. A second bilateral voltage clamp 52 is connected to the both end of the inductor 40, thereby limiting the deflection range of positive and negative voltage across the inductor 40. |
