PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for plasma display panel capable of improving hardness of a barrier rib and improving luminance thereof while reducing the dielectric constant of the barrier rib and capable of lowering the power consumption. SOLUTION: In a substrate for plasma display panel provided with a plate- like insulating board 1 and plural barrier ribs 3 formed in the plate-like insulating board 1, the carrier rib 3 is made of glass and the ceramic filler composed of at least one kind of ZrO2, TiO2, Al2O3, SiO2, MgO, CaO and Y2O3, and the barrier rib 3 includes 70-90 pts.wt. of the ceramic filler in relation to 100 pts.wt. of glass.
