PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reproducing device having the measurement with a precise and short measuring time and measuring a difference from an optimum value of a reproducing parameter, and the automatic adjustment that an automatic adjustment loop is separated. SOLUTION: The reproducing parameter is frequency modulated by adding/ subtracting the reproducing parameter prt with modulation amplitude amp from a central value cent at a period of period/2 in step S103, step S104, step S106 and step S107. A modulation frequency component is taken out by measuring a displacement of a jitter value at that time in the step S105, step S108, and the difference from the optimum value of the reproducing parameter is estimated by integrating in the step S110.
