PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll type compressor capable of enhancing a strength of a lap terminal end of a rotative scroll. SOLUTION: In the scroll type compressor, a compression part 2 and an electric motor 3 are disposed in a seal container 1 at lower and upper sides, and a stationary scroll 4 having a scroll lap 4b on a mirror plate 4a and a rotative scroll 5 having a lap 5b having the same shape on a mirror plate 5a and engaged with the stationary scroll 4 to form a plurality of compression chamber 12 including a suction chamber 14, a shaft supporting a rotative driving shaft 7 of the rotative scroll 5 and rotation-driven with forming a crank shaft 8 at a lower end and a main bearing 9 pivotally supporting the crank shaft 8 are provided in the compression part 2, a discharge port 15 is provided on a center of the stationary scroll 4 and a suction pipe 13 communicating with a suction chamber 14 is provided at one end. The lap 5b terminal end of the rotative scroll 5 is elongated and a width of the elongated portion 5b1 is made narrower than that of the lap 5b.
