PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubrication structure capable of offering a sufficient amount of lubricating oil for longitudinal engines. SOLUTION: In a longitudinal engine 3 in which a crankshaft 10 is placed longitudinally in the engine 3, an engine housing 19 is formed by joining a crankcase 20 to a cylinder block 21 on a faying surface that runs parallel with an axis of the crankshaft 10. In addition, an oil pan 29 is formed on the underside of this engine housing 19 so that it bridges over both the cylinder block 21 and crankcase 20.
