PURPOSE: A method for hunting individual number in an exchange system is provided to connect a call, which isn't received as main number but an individual number, to an unused subscriber in an exchange system. CONSTITUTION: A method for hunting individual number in an exchange system comprises the steps of: when an exchange system receives a communicating request signal, a control part(111) examines the signal's specified number whether it is an individual number(213); the control part(111) requests a communication to a relevant subscriber, if the examination has resulted an individual number(221); the control part(111) examines whether an individual number hunting function is set, when the subscriber's line is busy(223); the control part(111) hunts unused subscribers in the exchange system, if the hunting function has been set(227); and the control part(111) connects the communication request signal to the unused subscriber, if which exists in the system(235).
