PURPOSE: A voice dial registration method is provided to convert a voice, stored when registering a voice dial in a communication terminal with a voice recognition function, into a character, and connect a call corresponding to the registered voice dial when the converted characters exists in a phone book. CONSTITUTION: A voice dial registration method comprises steps of setting a voice dial mode by pushing designated keys(201), generating a message for requiring a voice corresponding to a name or a phone number through a display or a speaker(203), checking if a voice is input(205), converting a voice into a voice data in an encoder and storing the voice data in a voice dial area of a memory(207), converting the voice data into a character data(209), checking if the character data exists in a phone book area of the memory(211), storing the address of the corresponding phone number at a phone number area in case that the character data exists in a phone book area of the memory(213), generating a message for inputting a phone number in case that the character data does not exist in a phone book area of the memory(215), checking if the phone number is input(217) and storing the input phone number at the voice data area(219).
