PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an environmentally-friendly clean energy source using energy of falling water, by disposing a horizontal shaft water turbine on the down stream side of an upper projecting end of a river drop body, and rotating a generator coupled to a turbine shaft with rotational energy of the horizontal shaft water turbine resulting from falling overflow water. SOLUTION: A horizontal shaft water turbine 2 is provided on the downstream side of an upper projecting end of a river drop body 1. A generator 4 coupled to a turbine shaft 3 is rotated with rotational energy of the horizontal shaft water turbine 2 resulting from falling overflow water. A turbine protective cover 5 is provided at the rear of the horizontal shaft water turbine 2. If the horizontal shaft water turbine 2 may be damaged by earth and rocks flowing with a turbid stream, the turbine protective cover 5 is rotated to cover the front of the horizontal shaft water turbine 2 for protection. The size and number of the horizontal shaft water turbine 2 are determined according to a width and a flow rate of the flowing river water. If the width of the flowing river water is relatively large, a plurality of horizontal shaft water turbines 2 are coupled with each other at regular intervals.
