A method for accurate alignment of double sided prints uses three high resolution cameras. One camera (2) scans the underside of the sheet, one camera (3) scans the top side of the sheet while a third camera (4) the alignment markings and the edge of the sheet. The three cameras are mounted in the same alignment head which traverses the print table on scales guides and with position sensors to monitor the alignment.
