PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the preheating time in the vaporizing section of a liquid fuel combustor and to suppress the occurrence of tar in the vaporizing section and clogging due to generated tar in the section. SOLUTION: A liquid fuel combustor is provided with a flat vaporizing chamber 25 having a nozzle section 23 at one end and a fuel supply port 27 at the other end and heating means 20a and 20b which heat the chamber 26. The combustor is also provided with a space section 20 for housing tar between a vaporizing element 28a on the nozzle section 23 side and a vaporizing element 28b on the fuel supply port 27 side. Therefore, the time until the vaporizing chamber 25 reaches the vaporizing temperature of fuel after the heating means 30a and 30b are conducted can be shortened at the time of starting the operation of the combustor. It also becomes possible to vaporize the fuel in almost all parts in the chamber 26. In addition, since the volume of the space section 29 is larger than the volume of pores in the elements 28a and 29b and a large quantity of generated tar component can be housed in the section 29, the occurrence of clogging in the chamber 25 due to generated tar can be suppressed.
