PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety hook excellent in operability. SOLUTION: A single swing blade 4 having a pair of side plates 5 is swingably mounted in one side part of a hook main unit 1, and an opening of a hook part 2 provided in a tip end of the hook main unit 1 can be opened/ closed from an inner side. The single swing blade 4 is energized in an outer direction by a coil spring 7 provided inside the blade 4, to make a tip end part abut to a tip end part inner surface of the hook part 2. An engaging pawl 8 is assembled in the inside of the single swing blade 4, the halfway of this engaging pawl 8 is swingably supported. One end part of the engaging pawl 8 is made to face to a window 10 provided in the single swing blade 4, the engaging pawl 8 is energized by a spring 12 in a direction with the other end part engaging with an engaging part 11 provided in the hook main unit 1. The single swing blade 4 is prevented from swinging to a side of the hook main unit 1 by engaging the other end part of the engaging pawl 8 with the engaging part 11, one end part of the engaging pawl 8 is pressed by a finger gripping the single swing blade 4, after the other end part of the engaging pawl 8 is disengaged from the engaging part 11, the single swing blade 4 is swinged to a side of the hook main unit 1, and the opening of the hook part 2 is opened.
