PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts and machining man-hours by adopting a locking device on earthquake that can be externally mounted also at a piece of furniture with less upper space of storage space above a closet or the like. SOLUTION: A locking device on earthquake is provided with a mounting member 9 that can be mounted at the upper-surface side of a box body 2 and a lock member 10 that is provided at the mounting member 9 that jumps in front of an opening door 3 due to the vibration of earthquake and prevents the opening door 3 from opening. In the locking device, the lock member 10 is pivoted around an axis center in left/right directions so that it can be freely switched between the foldback state and hanging state for the mounting member 9. Further, a stopper means 16 for regulating further opening of the lock member 10 in hanging state toward the front.
