PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated paper that has high white paper gloss and causes no miss feed of overlapped paper sheets in printing. SOLUTION: This coated paper comprises the paper base material and coated layers that are mainly composed of a pigment and an adhesive on both surfaces of the paper base material. The adhesive is a synthetic high-molecular compound having a glass transition point of 20-40 deg.C, particle sizes of 40-120 nm and the gel fraction of 60-90%. The coated layer includes 0.3-5.0 pts.wt., per 100 pts.wt. of the pigment, of a higher fatty acid having an average particle size of 0.1-2.0μm and a softening point of 80-160 deg.C and the gloss on the surface of the coated layer is >=50 %. The higher fatty acid has preferably a specific gravity of 0.8-1.0 and the content of adhesive is 5-20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the pigment.
