PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new organometallic compound (oligomer) having properties for preventing attachment of dirty and anti-blocking properties, and useful for a coating material or the like. SOLUTION: This new organometallic compound is the one of the formula XbM(OR1)aR2c [(a) and (c) are each 0-6; (b) is 0-5; and (a)+(b)+(c)>=3 with the proviso that the (a) and (c) are not simultaneously 0]; X is a 1-5000C monovalent organic group or H; M is tri- or poly-valent metal atom; R1 is a 1-1000C monovalent organic group or H; with the proviso that one of the R1 is a group of the formula (A and B are each H or a 1-5C alkyl); R2 is a 1-20C monovalent organic group having a chelating ability], e.g. a compound of the formula HSi(OCH2CF3)3. For example, the compound of the above formula is obtained by reacting one or more kinds of a metal halide, a metal alkoxide and the like, with one or more kinds of an alcohol, a carboxylic acid and the like corresponding to the organic group of the compound of the formula in an inert gas atmosphere.
